Adolescent Musculoskeletal Pain

Up to 40% of adolescents have musculoskeletal pain. This study indicates that if musculoskeletal pain is not addressed, there is an increase likely hood of increase additional health related problems in adulthood. Persistent musculoskeletal pain report difficulties in activities of daily living, reduced quality of life and negative emotional symptoms. This study suggests to acquire the basis of the pain and aid in treating. As Chiropractors, we specialize in musculoskeletal conditions and see adolescents with pain due to a variety of reasons. Backpacks is one cause, and phone use is another, and there are many other causes of musculoskeletal pain that can appear as neck pain, upper back pain and lower back pain. The key is to develop appropriate preventative strategies, to heal the pain and stabilize the patient, so they do not continue to have pain in the future.
